CelebrityTrump Responds To Iran’s Threat With Humor And Skepticism
An advisor to Iran’s Supreme Leader said the president could be attacked while lounging at his Mar-a-Lago estate, but Donald Trump dismissed the “threat.”
Ali Khamenei’s adviser, Mohammad-Javad Larijani, issued the warning about Trump on July 9 at a talk about Iran’s military technology on Iranian television.
He chuckled as he discussed his ideas on how Trump would be attacked, implying that it might occur suddenly.
Larijani stated: “Trump can no longer sunbathe in Mar-a-Lago, because while he’s lying down, a micro-drone might target and strike him right in the navel.”
Iran would not execute such a plan, the adviser continued, adding, “Of course, we fight like men.”
But that didn’t stop Trump from making the remark later in an interview with Fox News.

Fox host Peter Doocy made reference to the remark as he asked Trump when he last went sunbathing, to which the POTUS responded: “It’s been a long time. I don’t know, maybe I was around seven or so. I’m not too big into it.”
He then attempted to completely ignore the adviser’s remarks, giving the impression that he was not at all worried.
He said: “I guess it’s a threat. I’m sure it’s not a threat, actually, but perhaps it is.”
Larijani’s comments follow Trump’s declaration that he would “absolutely” contemplate hitting Iran once more, following US raids on three of Iran’s most important nuclear sites in June.
“If the intelligence reports conclude that Iran can enrich uranium to a level that concerns you, would you consider bombing the country again?” a reporter asked Trump after the attack.
“Sure, without question, absolutely – it has to be unbelievable,” Trump retorted.
“Can I tell you – they’re exhausted,” the president continued, adding: “And Israel’s exhausted too. And I dealt with both of them, and they both wanted it settled – both of them – and we did a great job. But they’re exhausted.”
“The last thing they’re thinking about right now is nuclear. You know what they’re thinking of? They’re thinking about tomorrow, trying to live.”
Following Larijani’s comment, a spokesperson for the United States Secret Service (USSS) told Newsweek it could not comment on specific protective intelligence matters, but added: “We operate in a heightened and very dynamic threat environment and the safety and security of the President and all of our protectees remains our highest priority.”
